El Gouna Film Festival has announced the list of sponsors and awards for the 7th edition of CineGouna Production Support, the festival's program dedicated to developing projects and supporting co-productions of Arab films, which will be held during the festival's 7th edition, from October 24 to 31, 2024.
The value of CineGouna Production Support Awards
The total estimated value of CineGouna Production Support Awards this year exceeds $360,000, including $180,000 in cash, for which 21 Arab projects in the development and post-production stages will compete, a record total of awards with which El Gouna Festival continues its support for Arab cinema and talented filmmakers.
CineGouna Production Support Awards The winning project in the development stage and the winning film in the post-production stage will receive a CineGouna platform certificate and a cash prize of $15,000 each. While a group of the most important production and service companies, film bodies and institutions, grant multiple awards for which the projects compete, including 9 different invitations that enable filmmakers to attend the most important development labs, markets and international festivals, which guarantees them to develop their work and expand their network with the international film community.
The selected projects will benefit from a valuable training program to develop their ability to present ideas, supervised by American film expert Paul Foley, screenwriter and professor at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of South Carolina (USC). The training program is provided by the global Filmed Entertainment.
Cinejouna Film Production Support
Fund The financial awards for the 7th edition of "Cinejouna Film Production Support Fund" are provided by: Rotana, Arab Radio and Television (ART), New Century Productions, Lagooni Film Production, Red Star Films, MBC Studios, IEFTA, Rise Studios, Blue Bee Productions, ESLSCA University, O West, The Sound of Egypt, Red Sea Film Fund, Her Story Films, and Sard.
Service awards in distribution, post-production, and artistic invitations are provided by: The US Embassy in Cairo and Film Independent, the French Embassy in Cairo and the French Institute, MAD Solution and the Arab Cinema Center, the Royal Film Commission - Jordan, Sard, Torino Film Lab, the European Documentary Film Foundation (DEA), B Media Productions, Big Bang Studios, Shift Studios, and the Mediterranean Documentary Market (MediMed).
Commenting on the awards, Amr Mansi, co-founder and CEO of El Gouna Film Festival, said: "The increasing number of sponsors and the value of the awards granted each year reflects the appreciation of our partners in the various film and artistic sectors for the role played by El Gouna Film Festival and CineGouna in supporting film production, and the festival team's ability to select the best Arab projects that deserve support."
